Berkhouterweg
The Lijndraaier complex is next to a home for the elderly, "de
Avondlicht". This complex has forty-five plots with sizes ranging
from 100 m² and 300 m². There are grass paths and a small
clubhouse where the members can meet one another and drink
a cup of coffee. There are wheel barrows available.*
The complex on the Berkhouterweg (Berkhout Road) is located
diagonally across from the Overvecht Garden Centre. Situated
(typically for our allotments) between train lines to Amsterdam
and Alkmaar respectively.
There are in total, 170 plots whose size vary from 100 m² and
400 m². There are hardened paths and several parking lots. There
are also electrical supply points, many taps with city water and a
toilet. There are wheel barrows available as well as special tools
for you to use. There is also a clubhouse, "de Konkelboet".
(
Konkel is a West-Fresian word for drinking coffee while
chatting, and a
boet is the word for shed…thus a konkelboet is a
"shed" where one sits to drink coffee and chat). The clubhouse is
open Saturday mornings and weekdays during the afternoon. You
can meet other allotmenteers here and perhaps learn about some
new gardening ideas. Coffee, tea and soft drinks are for sale at a
nominal price.*
